Failing backups being performed weekly that I didn't request
Hi,
I use an HP 23g-017c all-in-one computer running Win 10 Home v 1607 Build 14393.969 and I am using Acronis 2016 Build 6581.
Just a quick question. I normally back up my system at least once a month by manually doing it.
However, I have noticed the last three weeks a backup is being run at (9:28:26 p.m.) on March 9, 16 and 23. I did not order any of these backups. Can someone please tell me why these weekly backups suddenly started running at the same time each week?
And, for the record, they all Failed!
Thanks and regards,
2harts4ever

Morning Bobbo_3C0X1,
(No idea really - not enough info to go on)
That is exactly why I posted the problem because I couldn't find any reason why it was doing it either.
However, I did as you said and made sure the schedule was set to "do not schedule" ... which it was and still is now. Then you recommending clicking "backup" right after making sure "do not schedule" was checked. I clicked 'OK' but I really don't know where "backup" is located in regards to Scheduling?
Thanks and regards,

Download the Acronis Scheduler Manager from the link in my signature below.
Run the schedmgr.exe file as Administrator and this will open a Command prompt type Windows.
Type the command get list in the window and it will show a list of all / any scheduled tasks on your computer.
Each task will have a long unique identifier string that can be matched to the .TIS files in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder - find the matching .TIS file and open this in Notepad. These are XML format files and the task name is shown near the top inside <display> my task name </display> brackets.
Hopefully this will show what task is being run and point you in the right direction in order to decide what to do about it.

Hi Steve,
I appreciate your response and informative suggestion.
However, I just finished a Windows 10 reinstall yesterday because of corrupted files and I think I now have Windows back in a non-corrupted state. So, for now I am going to wait until next Thursday night and see if this same phantom backup appears.
Your recommended fix sounds well thought out. But in reality I think it is a little more than my computer expertise can handle.
I'll post back if this 'ghost' backup rears its ugly head again next Thursday.
Thanks and regards,
