Network folders are not visible (NAS)

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've got Trial version of acronis backup 12. I've installed MSSQL agent on my VM machine on ESXI. When I am applying backup task on my machine, it's unable to connect to my NAS with an UNC Path \\IPADDRESS\Folder.   Also Sometimes it connects via smb://ipaddres/folder, but when i am tryin to Run Task Manually, it is freezing on "Calculatin estimated time" and after that it has Error that " Path '/' not found

Hi,

In general such issues should be investigated with help from our support team, since its unclear from the description what exactly happened. Have you installed Agent for Windows along with Agent for SQL inside the VM or have you deployed some Agent for VMware/Hyper-V to enable agent-less VM backup protection? Both of these ways enable application protection option in the backup plan, and it's quite important which method is used. In 1st variant (Agent for Windows + Agent for SQL) the network shares are accessed using standard Windows API functions from inside the machine, which means that if the share is accessible via Windows Explorer, then it should also work from Acronis Backup interface. In the 2nd variant if you have Agent for VMware deployed a virtual appliance and try to back up the VM in agent-less mode (you can see all VMs from vSphere in Devices list in web console and select VM with VMware icon on it) then the network shares are accessed using "asamba" Linux module running inside the appliance and this may not like specific NAS devices (where each model has its own specifics) - this is an issue which can be investigated and fixed on our side via custom patches for our Linux modules.

Thank you.
