USB3.0 runs slow

Thread needs solution

I have a USB3.0 external hard drive. Speed tests show I can get about 100MB/s sustained transfer.

Using Acronis backup and Recovery workstation 10 build 10.0.11639 it only runs up to about 25MB/s which is USB 2.0 speeds. Is there a patch or something I can do to get USB3.0 speeds?

I am running it on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I believe that both the motherboard and my external USB drive use the NEC USB3.0 chipset.

 Hello Fred!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! I understand your concern and will be glad to help you with the problem!

I have carefully checked our internal resouces and found no mention of a known performance issue related to USB 3.0. So the most possible reason for it is SnapAPI drivers glitch (they are responsible for working with the drives). I will send you the SnapAPI update in a minute via Private message. Please install it and see whether the issue persists.

Should it remain, please gather the following diagnostic information:

  1. SnapAPI log (I will send you the instructions via PM)
  2. Acronis Info from the problem machine)

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
