Lenovo A740 Rescue Media fails
My wife has a Lenovo A740 PC and I wanted to upgrade it from 2015 to 2017. The first step was to install 2017 on my computer. Make recuse usb media to boot her system and make a networked backup with the same media from which I would have to restore if everything went south. I discovered the A740 does not boot from a 2015 or 2017 USB Stick. I get the Acronos Menu, select true image, in the case of 2017 both 32 and 64, and nothing happens. Nothing happens even when I select system report. Anyone have any ideas. There is not any special anything in the bios, it is just like we received it from Lenovo. Do I need to copy additional drivers to the USB stick?
Thanks

Our A740 is set to AHCI and there is not a way to change it to RAID. The WinPE did not boot as well. I made a rescue disk on the A740 from Windows and it boots to the Windows rescue mode. Can I put Acronis on this disk? I am glad I am testing this before it is required! Thanks for your help.

David, if your Lenovo A740 is set to AHCI for the SATA mode, then there is no need to consider RAID as that would just complicate things without any reason. AHCI is fully supported by the Rescue Media so there is a different issue at work here.
If you have created the standard, Linux based, rescue media, then this should work with most computers but may be blocked if you have UEFI BIOS and have Secure Boot enabled. You can try disabling Secure Boot if this is enabled and see if that makes a difference?
Acronis also allows you to create Windows PE Rescue Media which uses the same approach as the Windows install media, and this will work regardless of having Secure Boot enabled or not. You cannot put the Acronis application on to the Windows install media, but the Rescue Media Builder tool will direct you to download the Windows ADK software needed for Windows PE - this is a large download of around 6GB but you only need to install the top 3 options when the install menu is shown. Once the ADK is installed, then the WinPE media can be created on your USB stick very easily.
