hey,
im using windows 10
and im using acronis true image 2015
and the harddrive in installed in the computer via a sata to the mother board
and the ssd is connected via usb-sata adapter cable. just for reference i have tried 2 brand new cables and just bought a new one just to narrow down the possible points of error

Sounds odd that the clone worked, but things are dorked up in the OS. Couple of suggestions...
1) boot to safemode, open an elevated command prompt nd run SFC /Scannow to check for OS issues, then reboot and see if that helps. You can run SFC Scannow in regular boot as well, but only if your system is usable.
2) Instead of cloning, pop in the original drive (and run SFC /scannow) for good measure. Then shutdown with a full shutdown (shutdown /p). When you press shutdown in Windows, if you have fastboot enabled, it may actually be going into hibernation and locking the drive, which could be causing issues for the clone. Personally, I only backup and restore backup images and they have gone off without a hitch (I do this for a living and use Acronis products in the office too).
Will be interesting to see if SFC /scannow and/or going the backup/restore method instead of cloning helps. I'm assuming your 2015 version came with the SSD? If so, it's a neutered OEM version that they modify and support directly. They're not only outdated, but modified and may have bugs - not a fan of the OEM's not keeping up with the software.
