Thread needs solution

Am trying to clone a HD on an HP PrDesk 600 G2. This PC is running Windows 10 (Creators Update).  I have tried using a USB boot and CD boot each gets stuck on Loading... Please Wait.

Been a while since I have cloned so I am sure something has changed or I need to adjust a BIOS setting or somethin.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Chad

Chad, welcome to these user forums.

Please see post: 128231: [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this!!!

When you boot from the USB or CD media, the key point is to do so in the way mode as used by Windows 10, so both UEFI or both Legacy.

There are some systems that the default linux rescue media may not work on.. particularly if you have RAID being used as the SATA mode.

Check the SATA mode in the bios to be sure.

A handful of systems just don't seem to like the Linux rescue media.  You could also try building WinPE (windows-based) rescue media and try that instead.  The WinPE can have RAID drivers injected as well to support RAID systems... BUT RAID/Dynamic disks are not supported for Cloning at all.  You can only do a backup/restore in those cases.  Same result, but you have to create the backup first (which is safer since you have that option to fall back on as well).

To get WinPE rescue media

Download and install the Microsoft ADK.  When installing, pick just the top 3 items (about 3.4gb).

Once that is installed, you can build WinPE rescue media natively with the Acronis rescue media builder.  However we also built a sweet MVP winpe builder that adds a lot more functionality to the rescue media and allows easy driver injection for custom systems.  By default, it already includes the latest IRST drivers for systems that use the embedded Intel Raid controller on most motherboards.  Third party RAID controllers (LSI, RocketRaid, etc, will likely require you to add those drivers to the custom folder before building).  The tool is very easy to use and each section is step-by-step with options to let you customize the WinPE rescue media build.

Links for Microsoft ADK and the MVP winpe builder tool are below.

Hello cceller,

Loading, please wait... refers to the boot stage, when Linux kernel is being loaded and Acronis True Image application is started.

Solution provided by Bobbo must have helped you, as it makes use of a completely different platform: Windows PE instead of Linux. Just in case you wish to help us investigating and fixing the issue with the default version of the bootable media (Linux-based) in future versions, here is what you can do:

1) Burn the bootable CD or DVD from a pre-made ISO image. For that, open account.acronis.com, click Downloads, click Bootable ISO image, right-click the downloaded file and select Burn disc image. See if this bootable media starts fine. If this helps, then the problem was in files-components that the media builder uses to create the media. In order to investigate the problem we would need contents of the folders "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageMedia" from your computer. Contact us here for further instructions on how to send them to us.

2) If the solution with downloading and burning the ISO file does not help, then please notice if the initial Acronis menu is text-based or has graphics. If it is text-based (meaning UEFI boot mode), keep pressing "e" key on the keyboard after you press 1 to start Acronis True Image, until the line "Press <Enter> to confirm changes, <Esc> - to keep unchanged" appears. Delete the "quiet" text and press Enter. When the text stops scrolling, take a photo of the screen with a smartphone or camera and send it to us using "Send feedback" feature in the program (it's under Help section).

By following the above steps you can help us get the issue rectified in the future versions of the software.

Regards,

Slava

Macrium uses WinPE by default.  Acronis uses LInux by default.  You can build WinPE with Acronis as well as was suggested above already.  Use whatever works best for your situation though.

Every version of ATI, from 2015 to 2019 has a lot of troubles in the Bootable ISO image.
The live enviroment not start or give an error with AMD A8 notebooks since with most expensive Workstations equipped with Nvidia Quadro.
Secure boot enabled or not the Linux enviromet not working as the same and you must fix that.
Only today i need to create a full low level backup of a cheaper HP notebook with A8 CPU and the live CD of ATI 2017, 2018 and 2019 not start. Loadning, please wait... on the screen, forever.
I've read this thread and i've try in legacy boot, secure boot disabled, with no success.
A backup program work fine ONLY if you can restore the data.
In this case i can make a backup with the ATI 2019 on working Windows 10 OS but if i need to recover it on a new hard drive, i can't.
Why the Acronis Live 11.5 working fine?

Fabio, welcome to these public User Forums.

All downloadable .ISO images from your Acronis account (any version of ATI) will always be the Linux based rescue media CD/DVD image.

Since ATI 2018, Acronis have been moving away from using the Linux kernel version of the rescue media to now using Windows PE created from the installed Windows Recovery Environment where possible.  The WinPE rescue media cannot be downloaded as an ISO image but has to be created from within Windows on either optical media or a USB stick.
