OK to eliminate the ATI startup programs?
I've read through many past posts, but I would like to get a confirmation here about the latest system.
I use Acronis for nothing more than a scheduled daily backup and a couple manually started backups when needed. I've killed all the services except the Scheduler2 service. I still have the TrueImageMonitor and TIBMonitor starting up though and I'm thinking from what I read that I can disable those startups as well. Can't say I've ever mounted a .tib.
Is there anything at all that I would lose by not starting these two programs?

Steve, I saw that but kind of sparse description there. The TIB monitor is not mentioned there although an older forum post seemed to imply that without the tib monitor running one can still load the tib, which makes me wonder what the monitor really does. As for the TrueImageMonitor, seems the only thing I would lose is the icon appearing in the notification are when my scheduled backup runs. But everything would still work.

Hello Bruno,
For your way of using the progam it is completely safe to remove or uncheck TrueImageMonitor.exe and TibMounterMonitor.exe from the Windows startup list.
If you have not used neither archiving feature nor local mobile backup, then you should not have acronis_drive.exe running either. So, Scheduler2 service should be the only Acronis service running in background. Technically it consists of two processes: the main schedul2.exe and the helper process schedhlp.exe, both should be running.

Thanks, Slava. For now I've left TrueImageMonitor running just so I can see the notification icon when a backup starts. And the only service is the scheduler. All is working well.

Hello Bruno,
The latest update (build 8053) brings a new behavior in relation to automatically started services and processes.
If the user has not sent any backups from a mobile Android or iOS app to the desktop/laptop with Acronis True Image 2017, then the update sets the corresponding two services to Manual startup mode: Acronis Mobile Backup Server and Acronis Mobile Backup Status Server, so that they are not started automatically with the computer.
Once the user selects the Dashboard tab in the interface and clicks "Mobile device backup", then the abovementioned services change their startup type to "Automatic" and are started.
For you it means that if you click "Mobile device backup", without actually intending to use this feature in the future, you would need to change services' startup type back to Disabled again and stop the two services.
Regards,
Slava

Slava, thanks for pointing this out. I periodically review the services as it is not uncommon for this kind of thing to happen.
