Clone some partitions and not others?

Thread needs solution

I am trying to clone a malfunctioning disk. There are bad sectors on one partition that won't clone. I'd like to clone just the Recovery and Restore partitions, but ATI won't allow me to select multiple partitions, only allow either all partitions or a single partition. Not sure why it doesn't allow for selecting 3 of the 5 partitions, but it won't.

If I try making a backup, it only shows the 2 main partitions, and not the Recovery or Restore partition, as options. If I de-select the 2 main partitions, the whole drive gets unchecked.

This doesn't seem like it should be impossible, maybe I'm just missing an option somewhere. I have my data backed up, but don't have a way to re-install Windows. I was hoping I could clone all of the partitions aside from OS and Data and then use them to set up the machine as new. I'm not eve sure if it would work, but was hoping to try. Can it be done in ATI?

Thanks!!

Jeff, welcome to these user forums.

Cloning tends to be an all or nothing tool for doing this type of activity and I personally would not recommend using it.

See post: 128231: [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this!!! for some of the reasons for my opinion above.

When doing a Backup, you need to ensure that you are looking at the 'Full partition list' by clicking on the text for this in the source selection panel - if you see that text, then you are looking at the 'Short partition list' which hides these normally hidden partitions on the drive.
