TI 2011 ... BACKUP NOW buttons missing on all archives
The backup no button is not present on the screen for my archives.... just the explore button.
How do I do an update to an existing archive ? NOT a full backup.... where is the update command ?

Was the initial backup created with 2011? Maybe you have to update the task options before it has enough information to allow you to create a backup.

so there is an option to recreate them .... but after trying to save them I get "THE GIVER URI IS EMPTY"
And after hitting the backup button, it does a full new backup even tho the scheme was set to incremntal to match what I had.
So there is no way to update a 2010 incremental archive ?

Yes, an incremental is easily possible once the full has been created and TI knows where to find the full.
Someimtes, it is necessary for you to browse for the backup and remind TI that such a file exists. This is especially true when backups and restore are done from the Rescue CD becauses of the variance is drive letters between Windows and Linux. TI keeps looking for a file based on the Windows path which is not the same as the Linux path. Thus, the CD Linus needs to be reminded of where the file can be found.
if it were me, I would create a new task with the proper settings and try again. Afterwards, if you are still having problems, tell us more about what you are doing and how you are doing it-such as is the task being run from a shortuct or Windows Scheduler or from within the program; and from within Windows or the Rescue CD. There are a lot of variabe which we do not know so we can only provide general information.

Once you've managed to get your tasks behaving properly, I suggest taking advantage of the new option of exporting your tasks/schedules to the zip file, so that in future installations or if somehting goes badly wrong, you at least ahve a chance of importing them into th enew build or release.

TI does know the file exists and does recognize the backups, full and incremntal ... it just refuses to do a new incremental

aren't there any official acronis moderators here to answer questions ?

let me repeat ... thet backup is there, the incrementals and the full for the series are recognized by the TI 2011 program .... how do I do an UPDATE to it !!! This was never a problem in previous TI releases.

when I use the the option "RECREATE BACKUP SETTINGS" with a scheme of incremental it produces an error dialog saying "THE GIVEN URI IS EMPTY" ... I can only answer cancel or ignore .... I click ignore.
The backup button now appears ... I click it ... I does a new complete backup instead of an update / incremental which is what I want.
I never had a problem creating a new incremental with past version updates. !!

Hello all,
Thank you very much for your posts and your much appreciated assistance!
Howard,
Please let me help you.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience. In case you need immediate technical support, you can always get in touch with our Support team directly.
To get back to the issue. In case the backup in question is a system state backup or an application setting backup, the backup button will be disabled because these features no longer exist in Acronis True Image 2011 Home. You can still recover such backups though.
I would really appreciate if you can send me a screenshot of the backups window and your backup location together with this report. I am certain we can sort this out.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
