mms.exe handle leak
Good day.
We have the following Acronis products installed on Windows Server 2008, SP2 (not R2):
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Agent Core : 11.0.17437
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Command-Line Tool : 11.0.17437
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Agent for Windows : 11.0.17437
We have bundled these products with our own, to provide on-demand or scheduled full/incremental disk backups.
This is done by basically creating Windows Scheduled Tasks that execute acrocmd commands, either once or periodically.
On some of our machines, we are noticing ever-increasing handle counts for mms.exe. They seem to be registry handles for “HKLM\BCD00000000\Objects” and it leaks 5-12 handles as a bunch every 10 minutes (not one at a time at a regular interval as one usually sees).
Is this something that anyone has seen before, and/or have a solution?
sysinfo file is attached.
Thanks for your time,
Joe

Igor,
Is 17437 a build that falls into the "earlier" category?

I'd have to bring up and check for an exact build history and what was fixed where, but the one you are using is old, something like 4-5 years at this point, so the chances are very high that this falls in the "earlier" category.

Understood.
Upgrading the product would be quite painful, but if that's the only way to fix this, I'll start looking at doing that.
Thanks.
