Restoring an Image leads to wrong Diskname in Device Manager

Thread needs solution

After restoring a Backup to a new SSD i noticed that the new SSD (Toshiba) has the Name of the Old one (Corsair Force III) in the Device Manager.

Ist that normal ? How to change the SSD Name to the Real one ?

Chris, please take a read of post: SSD name is not correctly recognized after recovery which looks to be the same issue as you are reporting.

I would recommend opening a Support Case directly with Acronis support if the above post does not help you to resolve this issue.

Looks like this but wasnt solved in that Tread :(

(My Restore was with MBR & Track0)

Chris, understand that the other post had / has no solution, but you could add a comment to that post to see if the original poster was able to find a solution that he hasn't fed back about?

The type of restore (legacy/Mbr versus UEFI) shouldn't be relevant here.

Did you boot with both the original and new SSD connected as was suggested in the other post?

No i removed the Original SSD due it was faulty (the reason to replace it) before first Boot.

The only thing i didnt try was do "delete" it @ Device Manager and reboot because i guess removing the Boot Device will crash the System.

Chris, understand the reluctance to delete the device without any assurance that this won't crash / BSOD the system!

Have you tried doing a search for hardware changes in the Device Manager?

See webpage: Device Cleanup Tool: Remove all non-present devices from Windows PC which may be worth giving a try to see if it can help?
