splitting does not work?

Thread needs solution

I've done this several times in 12.5:  I want splitting to DVD level (4.3GB) since I backup my backup to OneDrive with a 5GB/file.  This is "detailed" on page 92 of the User Guide.

I an using the default GFS with Max compression.

I keep getting just one large file for my Full Backup -- too large to upload to OneDrive.

Hi Lester,

The default v12 backup format does not support splitting yet (that's a known bug: ABR-121569). In order to properly split the backup files set the Backup Options->Backup Format to version 11, while creating a new backup plan (you can't change this option in an existing plan).

Thank you.

Hi.  Thanks for the confirmation.  An hour with support earlier didn't get as far as your reply.

As you mentioned, in my 12.5 Advanced Workstation, in a created plan, it is not an option to go to an 11 format.  See attached.

I think this is a reasonable feature/bug to address in future versions.

Thanks.

Lester

Hi Lester,

Yes, this is the correct behavior for existing backup plan - the backup format can be set only when you create a new plan and cannot be changed after that.

Thank you.
