2011 Version - Installation Failed Due To BitDefender

Thread needs solution

OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
Internet Security Software: BitDefender Internet Security 2010 13.0.20

I tried to install Acronis True Image Home 2011 but the installation was interrupted before it could be installed. A message was shown saying that "The following products are incompatible with the one you are going to install. Uninstall these products manually and then restart installation: BitDefender Internet Security 2010 13.0.20".

I set the Firewall of the BitDefender so as to allow the Acronis installer to connect to the internet but the same problem persisted. However I couldn't close and exit BitDefender before installing Acronis 2011.

I would like to know if other members with Bitdefender installed in their PC have the same installation problem.

I just found the article 13774 in the Knowledge Base which deals with the exact issue as mentioned above. In this article it suggested a workaround solution by doing the following:

1.Uninstall BitDefender Internet Security;
2.Install Acronis True Image Home 2011;
3.Install BitDefender Internet Security over Acronis True Image Home 2011.

I don't think it is an advisable and acceptable solution because it will take too much trouble to do so.

It certainly is a critical bug in Acronis True Image Home 2011 because there is no such problem with the older 2010 version. I would like to see that this bug be fixed ASAP.
