Error occurred while writing the file
This error has become my nightmare. I repeatedly receive this error, then I have to create a brand new backup setup to get it to work. I need to get this fixed once and for all so that I don't have to keep babysitting it. I am on the latest update of Acronis True Image 16 and I still get the error. I can reach the network drive without issue from Windows Explorer.

Any suggestions?

Thank you Steve. I tried to connect my NAS Drive directly to my laptop. I can get the connection, but Acronis True Image 2016 is EXTEMELY slow. It's been going 20 minutes now and it's just showing 781 MB. I don't see anything running in the background that would contend with it. And, my software version for True Image is current. I just checked it today. I will run a system scan today, but any other suggestions of what I should look into?

Renee, when you say you have connected your NAS directly to the laptop, does this now show as a USB drive, and if so, did you modify the destination for your backup task to point to the USB drive?
Backup tasks can be slow during the phase when a snapshot is being created and should then move more quickly when that is being written out to the backup drive.

I have my NAS Drives connected to my laptop using the LAN Cable. Previously, I was going to my router with the NAS drive and connecting to it wirelessly from my laptop. Before I started the backup process again, I changed the destination to ensure that it could see it OK. After I get done having my system scanned for issues, I'll start the back up again and let it run to see if it errors again.

When I had the NAS Drives unit (Linksys NAS200), connected to my laptop using LAN cable, the backup worked fine. It just took a long time. Any advice on what drivers to check since it works fine with a direct connection? A different desktop here at home seems to connect to it remotely just fine without issue. I compared our backup profile settings in True Image and they seem to be the same.

Renee, I doubt that this is a matter of device drivers unless there is an issue with your wireless adapter drivers?
I am assuming that when you said that you connected to the NAS using LAN cable that in effect the only real difference is in using the built in Ethernet port instead of using the Wireless connection.
It may be a case of the wireless connection being less stable than using a wired connection, so I would check the wireless adapter settings, that it isn't being allowed to be powered down or put on reduced power etc.

Great suggestion. Thank you. I've updated my power management on the adapter and I'll see what happens in the next backup.
