Validation of backups fails

Hello,

I use B&R 10 (Build 11345) to backup my local machine - at least I try doing so.

There are 2 tasks for creating backups (#1 - Sys-drive, full, ~40GB; #2 - some folders, ~100MB), but both give me some headache.
After the backup-task itself is finished the validation for the full archive starts but seems to fail at random.

Task #1 failed all the 3 or 4 times I started it,
Task #2 is set up to create a full backup every 30 minutes and a incremental backup every 5 minutes for testing now (normally the periods between the backups would be longer). For some hours everything is running well, backups are done, validation completes without errors. Then, at some point I can not reproduce the validations start to fail (also for backups that previously passed validation).

What could be the reason for those problems?
The HDDs are okay, SMART-status is fine, I also tested another HDD as destination, the CPU should be stable (some hours Prime64 and LinX)

The system:
Intel Q8200 (at stock settings, 2,33GHz and 1,23V now, previously oc'ed at 2,8GHz and undervolted a bit)
Asus P5E
2x 2GB Kingston (KVR800D2N5K2/4G), 2x 1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer
Sys-drive: WD VelociRaptor, data-drives: Seagate 7200.12 500GB, Samsung F2 EcoGreen 1TB
Graphics-card, ODDs and stuff

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I understand your concern and will be glad to help you!

Unfortunately without logs it's hard to identify the exact cause of the problem. It can be eitehr the drivers conflict or the scheduler glitch or else.

In order to localise the issue let's update the Scheduler, and should the issue remain - proceed with investigation.

  1. Download Acronis Scheduler Manager. Open command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd); run schedmgr.exe and issue the following command:
    task zap
    This will erase all traces of the tasks.
  2. Update Scheduler as mentioned in this article
  3. Reboot the machine
  4. Recreate the tasks

This should resolve the issue faced. Should it persist, please provide us with Acronis Info from machine in quesiton.

Thanks, the scheduler should be updated now. So I am going to recreate the tasks and see what happens.

When a validation failed the log-entry was like this one:

Hello again,

As my system produced some bluescreens yesterday I did a deeper hardware-checkup - one of the RAM-modules seems to be defect.
This module could be a reason for the problems....

At the moment the Managed Machine Service is not running, the Windows-service is not starting at Windows startup. The event log shows no errors for the Acronis MMS.
