Email backup FAILS each and every time , ATI 2011 , Win 7 64bit , MS Outlook and contacts

Thread needs solution

What was once very easy with 2009 and 2010 has now become impossible with the new improved 2011.

Ok , tried a complete re-install of the program...error is still there.

any ideas?

OK I see that no one has any ideas about my problem so I will try some more info to try and help , I have read the users guide and it says:

"Note that if you configure a scheduled e-mail backup, you will have to specify your Windows account name and password. This is done for confidentiality reasons. The program will back up only the e-mail messages and settings related to the specified account. E-mail data of all other accounts will not be backed up."

I am NOT enabling a scheduled task yet as I am still setting up my new backups and have yet to get things to work properly , yet it STILL asks me to provide my Windows account name and password?
Also , I have 5 email accounts all attached to my Outlook 2007 , they are ALL mine , will this still backup my all my data for all accounts? and why is it asking me for my windows info if I am not scheduling the backup yet?

I wonder , is it possible that I got a corrupt copy of 2011?? because something like this was SURE to have shown up in testing.

thanks for any ideas ,
Rob

PS: as I only have 30 days of free support I have not rolled back to 2010 yet , I have opened a support ticket for this issue.

OK I have it:

If I try to backup Windows Live Mail , Contacts and Outlook 2007 all at once the program ATI 2011 crashes and I have to reboot as it will not start again sometimes.

But

If I back them all up ONE at a time on seperate backups they ALL work.....

Outlook is the most important so Problem solved...I guess.

hum, "problem circumvented", more like. I'd say that's a bug, and needs to be fixed.
Still, how many people use separate email clients on the same system?

LOL your right , not many use more then one email , I only use Live Mail for specific things so thats not as huge an issue as it seems BUT , it also Locks when just backing up Outlook 2007 and Windows Contacts together.

Here is my reply form Support:

Thank you for contacting Acronis Customer Central. My name is *****

As you have mentioned that you are getting error message while creating backup of E-mail client, So I will be glad to assist you.

I have understood your question and will ensure that we come to a quick resolution.

Please note that if you configure a scheduled e-mail backup, you will have to specify your Windows account name and password. This is done for confidentiality reasons. The program will back up only the e-mail messages and settings related to the specified account. E-mail data of all other accounts will not be backed up.

If you are creating backup of Windows Live Mail , Contacts and Outlook 2007 all at once the program ATI 2011 will crash and give you the attached error message and you will have to reboot as it will not start again sometimes.

Please create the backups separately, I am sure it will work for you.

I am going to reply one more time that ATI 2011 is demanding a Login even though I am NOT running this on a schedule and leave it at that , as long as it works with running them separately I will have the backups I need.

Indeed.
I especially like the way that support drone paraphrased all your findings... without even really bothering to paraphrase them. Maybe "parroted" would be a better term. Plus, no mention whatsoever had been made of your credentials issues.
Still, it's a semi-official confirmation, so at least you know where you stand.
