Media Builder - WinPE 10 not detected
Hello
I’m currently testing Acronis Backup v11.7 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 and I’m facing an issue.
Although Windows ADK 10 is correctly installed, the Acronis Media Builder doesn’t seem to recognize it correctly.
By the way the Windows ADK 10 is named WinPE 10, and not WinPE 6.0 as displayed.
I have one additional remark to the developer team.
Please add AES hardware encryption acceleration to Acronis Backup. It would boost the performances and reduce the waste of resources.
We are in 2016, every Xeon CPU support AES-NI instruction, even the cheapest Intel Atom CPU integrates now the AES-NI instructions.
Thank you

I have the same issue. ADK is correctly instaled and working fine for other projects. Attached screenshot

Well, I did look first but missed this post. So here's a link to mine with the same observations. No way they could have tested this.

Looking at the download link provided by ABPC Media Builder, it gives ADK 10.1.10586.0 which is that latest. If ABPC is going to check for a specific version, they really need to fully specify that they're looking for - AND test it.
ADK 8.1 is still recognized. Seems like they updated the UI but forgot to add code to support it.

Hi guys,
Thank you for the report. We're investigating the problem with WinPE10 and looking for ways to solve it.

I have not tried this yet, but according to this link, you must downgrade the ADK 10 to the version linked because Acronis isn't configured to support the newer versions of ADK 10. https://kb.acronis.com/content/57455

I tried with the older version 10.0.26624, but still no luck...
waiting for an official fix.....

Yes I can confirm that the older version did not work for me either. Sorry. I tried. We REALLY need this fixed.

The ADK they refer to is build 10.0.26624.0. I will try it now in a fresh newly installed VM. I will test it on a Win10 10240 and on a Win10 10586. Have a feeling you also will need the 10240 build of windowz in bottom. Let you know.

I have tested RTM 10240 and TH2 (10586) with same results.
Windows 10 10586.104, X64, en-US
Windows 10 ADK 10.0.26624.0
Acronis Build 11.7_44409
Windows 10 10.240, X64, nb-NO
Windows 10 ADK 10.0.26624.0
Acronis Build 11.7_44409
(Fresh, newly installed VM's)
In the wizzard the ADK is not detected. "Create WinPE auto.." and "Use WinPE files located..." is greyed out and Next button not active.
If you go back and forth Next button becomes active. Choose WinPE files manually, fails with same error.

I too can not get WinPE builder to work with 11.7 and ADK 6.0 (Win 10). 11.5 and ADK 5.0 was no issue at all though.

Got the same issue, and found https://kb.acronis.com/content/57455 (Acronis Snap Deploy 5, with the same Media Builder) metioned that it needs Windows ADK 10.0.26624 for Windows 10 support.
Just start downloading the old RTM SDK, hope can fix the problem.
Edit: Sorry that 10.0.26624 does not fix the problem.

I am submitting a system report again - I have not heard back from Acronis - anyone else?

Hi,
I got a reply that it is identified and will be fixed in the upcoming version of BuR 11.7.... roughly scheduled for "mid April"... so I think it will be released shortly...

Many thanks! Sounds like we'll see April releases for updates to 11.7 and ATIH 2016 this month then - looking forward to both :)

As usual, subscribed to everything but no notifications of releases.
Reportedly fixed now in 44421. Not tried it yet.

This is still a bug in Disk Director 12.0.3270 bootable media builder. After installing Windows ADK 10, Acronis doesn't detect it.

Hello Jeff,
There is a new build 3297 for Acronis Disk Director 12 available for download. I'd recommend updating all components to the latest build and re-create the bootable media. Installation files can be found here.
