I don't see anywhere in this version of True Image where you can assign a user name and password for the NAS share.....

Can anyone help?

Is this TI 11 or 2011?

Try:

1. Use IP addressing in TI instead of mapped share.

2. If you are using Vista or W7 delete user credential for that NAS under control Panel\Credentials.

Then restart TI and try and browse to the NAS path, then enter your credentials as requested.

3. Check that the NAS connection isn't timing out.

This is True Image Home 2011 running on Windows 7 Pro.

I deleted credentials for the Synology Diskstation and setup the unit for static ip address.

I then restarted TI and edited backup job and pointed it to Diskstation and was prompted for username and password.

Job ran fine.....

The Acronis service is running under the LocalSystem account while you're already connected to the network resource under your own account. Two accounts cannot authenticate to the same network resource from the same machine. So although Acronis cannot authenticate, access is still granted because the resource probably doesn't have access restrictions. So it's an annoyance more than anything.

If you want to remove this annoyance, you'll need to change the identity of the Acronis service to use your own account. In the Win7 search box, type "Services" and you'll see the link to your Windows services. Look for "Acronis Scheduler 2 Service".
