How to rebind existing cloud backup to the ATI installation?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am searching for help in following situation:

My computer needed to be reinstalled. The new computer with ATI 2018 installation was connected to the cloud and I am able to see existing backups. I am able to recover data but not the setting for this backups. There is no information about the folders selected for backup. How can I recover these parameters and continue to run the backups?

I have contacted the support but they sent me links to the user guide and to the FAQ. I couldn´t find the solution in these documents.

May be this topis was already discussed  but I wasn´t able to find it on the forum.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Josef

Josef, welcome to these User Forums.

The options that I can suggest to you would be as follows:

1.  Open the Acronis Cloud Dashboard - you can access this from within the ATIH 2018 GUI on the Account page as shown in the screen shot below:

Click on Acronis Cloud as shown above, which will open your Dashboard, then select your backup and explore the contents to see what you have been selecting for the source.

2.  Click on the Source panel for your Cloud backup task and select the disks, partitions or files & folders that you believe should be included in the Cloud backup.

Hello Steve,

many thanks for your response.

You are right, I am now able to see which folders were selected for previous backups and manually add them to existing backups.

BUT donť you think it should exist a better way how to restore backup sets than "mine" the folder set and manually re-select them?

(For example when I tested iDrive solution for online backups the system was able to re-connect a reinstalled computer to the previous account without manual intervention. I was convinced the same solution is possible with ATI.)

Joseph, one of the new changes with ATIH 2018 is the option for Backup settings transfer which allows you to save all your backup task configuration settings to a zip file and then to be able to import those settings back again in the event of needing to reinstall etc.
