Hi Eric,

If I correctly understood, you want to migrate/re-install your existing setup of Acronis Backup. The backup files are independent from Acronis Backup installation, so they can be simply copied (like you did) to new location. Then a new installation of Acronis Backup can be set up and these copied archives can be used as new destination for new backup tasks. If I got it wrong, then please clarfiy which operation you're trying to perform, e.g. what are the difficulties you run into?

Thank you.

Hi,

well yes, somebody moved the backup-files away and I moved them back into the old place. Now, the still existing Acronis installation does not recognize the backup and I wonder how I can use them as "a new destination" as you said.

As to my opinion the backup files have to be put into the internal catalogue of the Acronis installation in order to get handled by Acronis. How do I manage this? What exactly do I have to do to set them up again as a functional Acronis backup system?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

Can you please clarify how exactly you try to access the backups after their movement and what kind errors you get? Some screen shots would be really helpful to understand what might be wrong: screen shot of the step where you try to browse the location + screen shot of what's in the folder (from Windows Explorer). How these backups were created? Were they produced by saving backups to Acronis Storage Node (e.g. managed vault) or was it a plain backup location?

Thank you.
