Recovery says "No Data to Recover yet" but Activity says "Computer Successfully backed up"
TI 2018 9660 on a Windows 7 Pro machine. Backup screen shows green check mark. Activity screen shows 2 successfuly backups, 1 full and 1 incrmental, but Recovery screen says "No Data to Recover yet, Create your first backup version to see data here"
Also, I'm having same problem with Active Protection - unable to turn it on.
I knew I should have waited to upgrade!

In reply to Joe, please download / use… by truwrikodrorow…

Hi Steve, downloaded the viewer and discovered that all logs since about March of this year say the "Data File is Corrupt" but Acronis is working (it emails me every night, see below) and I can see and explore the versions on my external drive.
I'm downloading the full install and will try a repair first. Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Joe
From the emailed report last night.

Joe, the emailed log looks fine with no errors, which is confirmed by your ability to open & explore the backup image files.
Out of interest, if you browse in Explorer to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs\ti_demon and open any of the ti_demon_... logs shown there in Notepad, do they open and read OK?
If the logs are readable (as XML data files) then perhaps the MVP Log Viewer is not the latest version or is defaulting to opening in Legacy mode instead of New Generation mode?

Hi Steve, I really appreciate your help. I did a repair install yesterday, but didn't help. Yes, I can open the ti_demon logs with notepad but I did notice a problem. There were two ti_demon logs generated last night. One log was from a validate job that I run every Sunday. Here it is:

Joe, is there any chance that you have modified the script file associated with this task at some time? I have had a look at various of my own logs and have not seen any where there has been a reference to such as J:\@task@.tib.
This type of macro option is available in the advanced Notifications settings for use with email messages but no mention of a specific @task@ option.
Where I do see @task@ being used is in the task script files which are found in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts, but where in my case this doesn't result in any error messages in the log when the task is run.
This may be a case of creating a new backup task and see if the problem is resolved when that new task runs.

I believe is the @task@.tib is the result of a date and time stamp for the backup itself. The error log may be showing the internal command for the stamp.

In reply to Joe, is there any chance… by truwrikodrorow…

Hi Steve, I'm really good with hardware; not so much with software so I wouldn't have modified it.
I forced Acronis to do a total backup last night and today the "Recover" tab shows data. It even picked up the backups that were already on the external drive. It will do an incremental backup tonight so I will see what happens.
The repair install didn't fix the problem with not being able to start Active Protection but it looks like lots of folks are having that problem. Interestingly enough, everything is working fine on my wife's W10 computer. I can start and stop Active Protection without any problems. Hers was not an upgrade; mine was.
Thanks, Joe
