Restore in Acronis TrueImage 2018 fails

Thread needs solution

Hi,

When trying to restore an image from a USB device to the computer the image was made on, Acronis TrueImage 2018 returns this event code:

0x000400001 +0x000400001 +0x00590001 +0x0000FFF1 +0x00000005

I can Retry, which results in the same message, or Cancel, which does not cancel the process. I have to reboot manually.

The image is a recent one on an otherwise reliable USB device and a reliable Windows 10 PC. The Acronis KnowledgeBase does not know this event code and I see no way on the website to contact Acronis for help.

Do you have an idea how I can restore my PC with this image in Acronis TrueImage 2018? Thanks very much!

regards,

Mike

Mike, welcome to these User Forums.

How are you attempting to do this restore of your backup .TIB image?

You should be doing this by using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media that was created using the Rescue Media Builder tool either on a CD/DVD or a USB stick.

If you have trying to do this from within the active Windows 10 ATI application, then please try using the Rescue Media instead.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reponse. I will try that. If it works, then the restore process must have changed as I have always been restoring system images from within Acronis True Image up to version 2017 on Windows (no rescue media needed ever, except when Windows didn't boot by itself).

Hi Steve,

I tried to use the process you advised, but that does not work either. The reason is probably a hardware issue with the disk as a Seagate tools states "hardware error". It seems I cannot copy the image file from the disk to somewhere else either, so I'll sort that first before attempting a restore process again.

Kind regards,

Michiel

Michiel, sorry to hear that the disk has a hardware issue as per SeaTools.  Hope all goes well after deciding on your next steps.
