Major inconvenience after upgrading to build 12457

Thread needs solution

Hi all.

Yesterday I updated our management server to build 12457. Everything worked as usual during the update process. All the other components residing on this server got updated as well (agent, storage node, media builder and console).
Anyway, after rebooting the server, i realised that all the agents couldn't for some reason communicate with the AMS.
Now the situation is this: I've got 95 (ninetyfive) servers grayed out in the machine list.
I tried rebooting some of them but to no avail.
In the past something similar happened and I had to manually reinstall all the agents (!). I'm sure you understand that I really cannot afford to proceed like that again.

What do you suggest?
Thank you

Hello Hyphen Italia,

Thank you for posting. I will definitely assist you.

I am sorry but at the moment it is not known why this issue occurs, however, I can recommend a workaround that will not involve re-installing all of your agents.

You can use a script to delete all of your machines from the AMS and then you can re-add all of them.

Since this a workaround, I recommend to try it with one or two machines first. Please check this article where you can delete by machine name.

If this fails to resolve the issue, please contact our Support team with the AcronisInfo report from the AMS machine and mention that my workaround did not work.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hello Anton,

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately the workaround you suggested doesn't work in our instance.
I then realised anyway that even the storage node stopped working, so we opted for a full reinstallation of the server-side services.
In a second time I'll try reconnecting the agents one by one. I'll let you know.

Thanks for your help.

Well, i can acknowlege this problem in my installation pool (12 machines), where approx. 50% of the machines are showing this behavior. #12457

All of these machines had failed while upgrading from TI Echo 9.5 WS to TI B&R Advanced Workstation agent.

Regards
Ralf

Update: We've finished reinstalling every single agent, as there was no way of reconnecting them to AMS.

Bye.
