TIH 10 resizing partition by itself!
Hi,
I have True Image Home 10 installed, with one incremental backup of my data setup. I just opened TIH to check it had done the latest scheduled backup. It said it needed to reboot to complate the current operation, which I thought was a bit odd. However, I let it reboot, and now it is resizing my one and only disk partition!
I absolutely, categorically, DID NOT ask it to do this. What on earth is going on? This is apparently operation 1 of 2, so I dread to think what operation 2 will be. I daren't interrupt the process as that's bound to result in a total loss of disk contents, but I will certainly be uninstalling this software the minute it has finihed doing whatever it thinks it is doing....!
42% and praying......

Michael,
Installing the Secure zone is usually an option (perhaps mistakenly) invoked by the user. Its use and creation is optional--not automatic. Some use and some don't. It does have its uses and benefits as long as you have other backups stored on other alternate devices. It offers no restore benefits if the drive has failed--as you are aware.
If you do not want Secure zone, then reopen TrueImage and chose the option to disable (or whatever the option is) and you will be able to get your space back and the secure zone will be removed.
And as a reminder, now is a good time to check to make sure the volume names assigned (by you) to your partitions are meaningful and unique. When booted from the TI Rescue/Recovery CD, the drive letters assigned by Linux will differ from those assigned by Windows.

Thanks Grover,
I've subsequently realised that I did indeed initiate this action, as I double clicked the 'Acronis One-click backup' icon on my dsktop rather than the Acronis TIH one. So maybe the only crime the software committed was to place these two similar icons on my desktop right next to each other! Having said that, it would have been useful to have some kind of verification dialog come up, saying 'are you sure you want me to spend 2 hours re-partitioning your hard drive and then do a complete system backup?'. But then I guess it would not be a 'one-click backup'!!
Suffice to say, I now understand exactly what happened, so I feel much more confident in this software.
Michael
