Which disk is hard disk 1?

BTW, a full disk mode backup and restore would be safer than cloning. You might try that.

KingSpec SSD
New SSD KSD-ZF18.6-XXXMS will not work in either of two HP Compaq 2710p Notebook Computers using two different cables. Yes I made sure the cable was plugged into the SSD correctly and the ZIF connector was locked.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit installation disk can't see the drive. It keeps prompting to load a driver. I downloaded the driver for the computer from HP and Win 7 installation doesn't accept that driver.

I tried using Acronis True Image 2014 and Acronis Disk Director 11 Update 2 and both of those fail with the following error:
Failed to write data to the disk. Failed to write to sector '0' of hard disk '1'. Direct R/W operation has failed (0x590001). Input output error (0xFFF1)

This is all the information on the drive:

Hey Ms or Mr tuttle, Thanks for the reply to my post. I have no clue how to do a full disk mode backup. I looked at backup options and did not see anything named full disk mode backup. I have had pretty good success with cloning. Can't really think of any instance where cloning did not work for me except for when Windows 8 came out and you now have to get Acronis True Image 2014 and create a boot CD and boot off of that.

I had this problem when I tried to clone using windows 7.  To fix it I did this:  Left click, Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management.  Now it is important to be sure to select the correct drive from the list, the one that you want to be your destination drive.  Right click on the large window for the disk, the right hand part and from that menu, format the disk.  Make the disk name be empty and hit OK.  (If it is an older disk, do a complete format and go make lunch, if it is a brand new disk, quick format.)  Then right click again and select Change Drive Letter and Paths, select remove, read the warnings and do it anyway.  Finally, right click again and hit Delete Volume.  Again, read the warnings and proceed.  When this is all done, the disk is ready to be a destination drive in a clone process.  This works for me, I just successfully cloned a drive that gave me this error message before I cleaned it up.
