Application Aware Backup not sending correct (domain) credentials

Thread needs solution

Hallo,

i have a very strange problem.

System is windows server 2012 and exchange server 2013 on ESXi 5.5 (all systems fully patched) nothing was change before i get the error!

Backup was running fine, but last week it stopped working.

i want to edit the job, an there was no application backup aware button any more - so i deleted the job.

now when i create a new one an activate the exchange aware backup i get an error, saying that the credentials are wrong.  I double check the credentials, and testet in windows AD, eveything OK!

when the check of the credentials was running i saw in windows eventlog follwing event:

localhost\administrator

i added a screensht of the windows eventlog, here you can see that acronis is not sending the domain from the username.

this cant be working because the local administrator of the windows has a different password, i entered the credentials in acronis like this: domain\administrator

to test it, i set the local password of the windows to the same as the domain administrator and check again from acronis console and it says me that this user it not a domain administrator and hasn´t the roles for exchange management.

so it is very clear, that acrois not sending the correct username, as i entered in the acronis web console.

Hi Dominic,

The issue could be related to improper credentials stored in internal management server database. You can try changing these credentials from Details tab of the VM which you try to enable application protection for (that's where these credentials will be picked up from when you configure backup plan):

If this doesn't help, then please contact our support team for assistance (this is not a common issue - so it should be investigated separately).

Thank you.

Hello Vasily,

thanks.

i have entered there credentials, but nothing change.

I have done a repairinstallation an now everything is working fine.
