Folder exclusions on Rescue Media vs Windows UI for full disk backup

Thread needs solution

Creating a disk backup in the Windows version of ATI starts with a list of folders to be excluded (e.g. $recycle.bin, System Volume Information, etc.). But when using the Rescue Media (either Linux or WinRE), there are no such folder exclusions preset.

Just wondering if there is a reason for this. It takes some time to enter the list manually (no browsing). What's the recommendation of those in the know?

By the way, I found that if I enter a folder to exclude without the drive letter (e.g. \$RECYCLE.BIN), it does not get excluded, even though the backup is all from one drive.

Bruno, this looks to be an Acronis design decision point.  For as long as I can remember the rescue media has never given any default exclusions as compared to the Windows application version.

My own approach is to add the basic pagefile, swapfile and hiberfil.sys files when using the rescue media, plus if needed, add *.tib should I be working with a drive that may have such files present.
