Upgraded from TI2009 to TI2010, Error Msg on Boot: TimounterMonitor.Exe - Entry Point Not Found
Hello, I just upgraded my installation of TI Home 2009 to 2010. I'm running a fully patched WinXP Pro SP3 (32-bit) machine. Before I upgraded, I made an image of my system drive using TI2009, fortunately.
Now when I boot into Windows, I get the following error message:
"The procedure entry point ?getText@FXTextField@@QBE?AVFXWString@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library fox.dll."
Of course, I tried to mount an image created by TI2009 (haven't tried to make one in TI2010 yet), and the image fails to mount. There is no error message.
Before I roll back to my image made using TI2009, has anyone seen this error?
Thx and Regards!

What do I do if the search does not find this file anywhere?
I get this error on trying to start bootable media builder from the Disk Director Suite.

I am having the same problem with the DLL after I upgraded to True Image Home 2010. I am running Vista Ultimate X64 with SP2.
I checked the directory tree you suggested and find that the fox.dll is in the following path:
C:\PROGRAM FILES(X86)\ACRONIS\TRUEIMAGE HOME
C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\COMMON FILES\ACRONIS\MEDIA BUILDER.
THE TREE C:\PROGRAM FILES\ACRONIS\TRUEIMAGE HOME and
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\ACRONIS\MEDIA BUILDER.
Do not exist.
Any help will be appreciated.

I ended up restoring my system drive to pre-TI2010 status, as I discovered inbound network connections were erroring out. (I started getting messages that I either didn't have appropriate permissions or there was not enough space on the server!) I was trying to connect to the WinXP Pro SP3 box from my VistaHP32 SP2 laptop. Outbound network connections were fine. Once I restored to pre-TI2010 status, both in- and outbound connections worked fine.
I guess I'll reinstall TI2010 and see what happens. Every year I upgrade right away, and every year the new TI breaks something. This is the first time I've had to revert to a previous version though.....

Well I reinstalled TI2010. Fox.dll was in the TIHome program directory, but I copied it to the MediaBuilder folder mentioned in your reply. Unfortunately I still get the error on Windows boot. (It happens well *before* I run TIHome2010!) Further, TI2010 installation still kills inbound network connections to the machine. I'll have to remove it yet again! Please help.

I have the same error message but I have two different fox.dlls in the correct directory:
TrueImageHome has a fox.dll that is 2,041,112 K that is dated 9/12/09
MediaBuilderHome has a fox.dll that is 1,701,144K that is dated 6/22/09
Which is the correct fox.dll?

That tree exists in 32 bit only systems.
I don't appear to have fox.dll on my W7 system in either(x86) or the 64 bit directory.

Anybody else have TI2010 killing inbound network connections? Further, copying fox.dll had no effect on either the original error message *or* dead network. Acronis, are you listening? Please help!
I also tried installing on my VistaHP SP2 (32-bit) laptop, and TI2010 installs OK. It seems to work fine, but so far I've only used the One Click Backup and done a restore.
I sure wish TI2010 worked like this on my WinXP machine, as it's my main box!

Hello,
i have the same problem. I upgraded from TI 2009. There are 2 fox.dll: in Acronis it has 1,95 MB and it is from Sep. 12, in Media Builder it is 1,63 MB an is from 2008. I copied the new one in Media Builder. Now I have to reboot to see wheter problem is still there.

I didn't encounter the same problem, but I did find that upgrading to ATI Home 2010 manifested other problems. So, I removed the older ATI Home installation, installed ATI Home 2010 from scratch -- and no problems! Seems there are problems with upgrading using this version.

I did this too, and unfortunately I still get the same error, same problems, and of course, no inbound network connections. I even cleaned the registry and rebooted after removing TIHome2009.
I sure am getting tired of installing TI2010 and reverting to my pre-TI2010 image!

Another user kindly posted his fix after calling tech support. It works!! Here's a link to the post.

I too am seeing this error since I upgraded. I performed the search and did not find the DLL in question anywhere on my system.

I have not attempted to clean all Acronis software from my system and install from scratch after using the AcronisCleanup program. At first all seemed well until I tried to launch the True Image 2010 program. Now I get a dialog box with some error about "Failed to initialize snapshot manager library".
Perhaps I'm better off just requesting a refund and stick with my 2009 True Image until 2010 is mature enough to properly install as an upgrade and function without jumping through all sorts of hoops and trying to correct installation errors. Maybe I'm off base, but when I purchase and upgrade, I expect it to go in without any hitches and run without having to do cartwheels, spinning around, and waiting for the sunspots and moon to be in proper alignment.

That's exactly how I feel and when I post a problem pointing to this in the forum there is NO RESPONSE FROM ACRONIS.
This will be the last time I buy this garbage.....

Allen,
If you want responses and support from Acronis, you need to visit the Acronis support page and fill out a request for support ticket. Use support button in upper right corner of this webpage and login to your persona account.
If you are having difficulties with installing, the cleanup utility should help so you can get a normal install. Cleanu utility located in lower right corener of my signature link below. Any time you are upgrading from one version to another, a clean install offers your best chance of a successful install.
As the 2011 version has been released, most likely, there will be no further fixes or improvements to the 2009 or 2010 versions

Thanks for the response but there appears to be no way to report a problem without BUYING a support plan..
If you know differently let me know.... and you only get support for 30 days when you buy.. It took me 30 days just to find out the error was an ACRONIS problem.. FOX.DLL error..
PXXS POOR Support if you ask me..
