Nonstop backup customization, disk space consumes
Hi and best for 2018 to all!
(1) So, if I correctly understood there is no way to customize nonstop backup! I mean, I run it for some often-changed files backup and after some months there is no need to keep so many of those backed up files, but … can’t do that, can I!? I mean, backup to get rotated or cleaned up or something like that.
(2) Anyway, there is one thing I can’t understand. I have nonstop backup for some files, as I wrote, from C to (USB disk) E. Sometimes nonstop backup stops on some unknow (for me) reason, but that’s ok, I run it again. But seems to same amount of space for backed up files on E is also removed (consumed) from C. Why this happen? And how can I avoid that? If ever.
More thanks, Alar.

Alar, welcome to these User Forums.
Please see the ATI 2017 User Guide: Using Acronis Nonstop Backup which has a lot of useful information about how this feature works. See also section: Nonstop Backup - Frequently asked questions

Hi and thank You! And thanks for pointing.
Yes, this info I found via google’ing, but not for (2) – about disk space consumption. Today morning I had just about 800M left n drive C which suddenly jump to 22G. Can’t connect this kind of … happening to any other soft and started it after running nonstop backup. Any ideas about this?
More thanks, Alar.

Alar, NSB will utilise all the available disk space that is allocated to the target drive used to store its files, but this should not affect the disk space on your C: drive.
If you are running with Windows 10 and have recently installed the Fall Creators Update version #1709, then this will perform an automatic cleanup of the Windows.OLD folder after 10 days and this in turn can release around 20GB of disk space on your C: drive.

Hi and thanks!
No-no-no, nothing to-do with leftovers from latest WX update or whatsoever.
But … I got it. And almost nothing to-do with Acronis either, almost. It was System Restore which was allowed to consume a lot of disk space to keep necessary info. And on some (unknown for me) reason it started fulfill this need very rapidly after starting Acronis TI nonstop backup. That’s it.

Alar, thanks for the update / information. System Restore is normally disabled by default on Windows 10 installations - a point of contention for some users!
One point that may be worth checking, is that you still have System Volume Information listed in your Exclusions page settings for your NSB. This is where System Restore data is stored but is also used for Microsoft VSS snapshot data too. This is excluded by default by ATI.

Hi and thanks!
Haven't touched this excluded section, so, probably it's excluded.
