Ghost of DiscWizard Haunting PC After Installing ATI 2018

Thread needs solution

I've had many issues getting ATI 2018 up and running on my system but this is (hopefully) the last hurdle I haven't been able to get past:

I had Seagate DiscWizard installed on my system, but after loading Acronis True Image 2018 I am now getting annoying pop up windows every time I start up telling me that DiscWizardMonitor.exe can't run because several 'QT' files are missing (QtCore4.dll, QtGui4.dll, qt_icontray_ex.dll). I'd like to uninstall Seagate's DiscWizard to stop this annoyance but can't seem to. The program doesn't appear in my "Apps & Features" list, so I can't uninstall it there. I've tried reinstalling it so that I can uninstall it, but I can't do that because of the Acronis conflict ('Please Uninstall Acronis True Image (version 22.5.10640) and try again'). So I uninstalled ATI, then for good measure used the Cleanup Tool and then tried installing DiscWizard for the expressed purpose of uninstalling it. But that doesn't work either. It gets 2/3 of the way through the installation process and then stops with the error:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information.

ARGH! Any tips on how I can rectify this?

You can try to find the DiskWizard uninstaller by looking in the Windows Registry.

Open regedit and navigae to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Look for an entry for the Seagate DiskWizard app.  Click on the entry to select it and look for the Uninstall string which will show you the path to the uninstaller.

You can copy that path then press the Windows + R keys to open the run box.  Paste the string there and select OK to run the uninstaller.

Thanks for the response!

I didn't find any entry for Seagate in the Uninstall section of the registry that you pointed to, BUT I remembered  'Hey, that System Mechanic Pro that Acronis bundled in with their holiday offer might be able to help.' It doesn't look like I can uninstall it with that utility but I was able to use it to remove DiscWizard from the start up process. I'm sure there are other programs or manual processes to do the same thing but that seems to have fixed things.

I'll reinstall ATI shortly and verify everything still looks good.

Thanks again!
