Please do remove it.

Or at least make it work. When I click on that tab, it reports "there are no previous version." Uh... what would my backups be?

Gabi,
When attachments are needed, the attachments can be uploaded to the Acronis website as per these procedures.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for posting, I will definitely assist you.

Grover and Colin, thank you for helping.

I appreciate your valuable comments, I will be forwarding them to our Development team as an enhancement request so that we can address this issue.

In the meantime, please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello Guys,

Actually it is not a bug, there is no ability to switch the context menu integration of at the moment. Disable "Integrate True Image into Windows" removes Acronis from the Win7 Control panel.

We will add such task to our pool and try to implement it in the future.

Disable "Integrate True Image into Windows" removes Acronis from the Win7 Control panel.

Roman - this is broken. You can deselect that option in the help menu from the main screen, but it does not enforce any configuration change.

When you restart ATIH 2011, the option is reselected. Rebooting the Windows 7 Ultimate desktop makes no difference.

Either way, the /cploff switch does not appear to perform anything.

Additionally, after UNINSTALLING your product, Windows Backup is not restored to functionality.

I need to get back to Windows Backup to turn off the scheduled backups that were set up in Windows 7 before I installed True Image 11, but deselecting the "Integrate True Image Into Windows" does not work.

I've used the "Turn on Windows Backup" option in the control panel and closed the Windows control panel and reopened, but the Acronis panel is still there instead of Windows Backup, even after a reset (which also turns back on the "Integrate True Image Into Windows" option).

Now there is no way to turn off Windows Backup, and no way to get back into it, even temporarily. Please fix this option.

I just returned to older finished version without any unusable integrations...... I don't mind for what integrate acronis in windows explorer....... ATIH is not a program for every day.

I have the same problem. Windows is running backups which were scheduled before I installed Acronis but I cannot access the windows backup interface even after disabling the integration feature and I still cannot access it even after uninstalling Acronis. I am so tired of rip-off companies whose products not only do not do what they claim but seriously foul up the OS as well. I am now stuck with no backups and no apparent way to solve the problem except to completely re-install windows 7, not to mention being out 50 $ for a useless acronis product. I would also say to Roman that if you cannot give an honest answer then you should not answer at all.I would also say that I am going to be writing some very strongly worded reviews of this product in every available forum.

It has always annoyed me that Acronis inserted itself into my Explorer context menu at the file and directory level, and further annoyed me that there was no configuration option to remove this. I have always removed it manually, by editing the Registry and removing {C539A15A-3AF9-4c92-B771-50CB78F5C751} from ContextMenuHandlers of * and Folder (but leaving Drive so as to allow Unmount).

It seems they have now added to PropertySheetHandlers as well as ContextMenuHandlers, and that they even replace the Windows Backup handler with their own and have no way to get it back. The latter is inexcusable. Again it may be a simple Registry edit, and perhaps Acronis can distribute a fix; but it is continually shocking and painful to me to see this software, on which I depend on a daily basis, developed so clumsily.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for all of your posts. I will do my best to assist you.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience related to Windows 7 backup. I would really appreciate if you can collect this report and contact our Support team with the description of the issue, so that we can investigate and resolve it for you.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Are you being facetious ? Your product has pretty much wrecked my OS.Action Center now continuously indicates that a Windows Backup is in progress although nothing is being backed up and no amount of restores or restarts are now going to solve the problem, much less bring back the Windows Backup interface. Even stopping the Windows Backup service won't fix the problem.I have little doubt that you and your friends at Acronis know full well that True Image trashes Windows 7 and clearly the problems it creates cannot be fixed short of completely re-installing Windows. But you have the unmitigated nerve to suggest that you somehow want to help.Your company rips off unwary consumers with over-hyped products that do little more than damage the customers OS and I am going to do everything I can to make sure nobody I know gets ripped off by Acronis the way I did.

Hello Duncan,

Thank you very much for replying.

We do understand that the problem you have faced is really serious and I assure you I'm going to escalate it to management to ensure quick resolution.

Our Development team is aware of this issue and we are doing our best to correct the situation.

I am terribly sorry for all the trouble.

Please let me know if there is any other way I can assist you.

Thank you.

Anton,

You can add my name to the growing list of customers with this issue. Windows 7 Backup and Restore worked just fine before installing Acronis True Image Home 2011 but once I uninstalled your software this windows feature no longer works. When I click on the links to the Backup and Restore center in the control panel nothing happens. I have no way to access this backup feature.

Many customers are having this problem, google it. Please fix ASAP.

Thank You!

Lawrence Seratt , Kevin Steele, Duncan McLean

Please accept my apologies for the troubles.
This issue with Control Panel integration (inability to switch back to Windows Backup) most probably was caused by updating to build 5519 or by reinstalling Acronis True Image Home. It should be fixed in the next public update of Acronis True Image Home 2011.
Meanwhile, to enable Windows Backup manually please do the following:
1. Start 'regedit'.
2. Locate the following registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B98A2BEA-7D42-4558-8BD1-832F41BAC6FD}\Instance\InitPropertyBag
3. Change the value of ResourceDLL to %SystemRoot%\System32\sdcpl.dll
4. Change the value of ResourceID to 14 (Hexademical).
5. Restart your PC.

Thank you.

Hi,
what about the Properties window being screwed up by the integration, as Gabi wrote here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/14144#comment-42326 and as I wrote here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/14694

I DO NOT WANT my properties windows to be screwed up.

I'm still wondering why you keep selling beta versions of your softwares... where are the good ol' days when the softwares just... worked?

Doesn't work. All I get now is a blank panel.See attached screenshot.Action Center still indicates a backup is in progress.

Okay,I fixed it.Forgot that I had disabled the Windows Backup service.Seems to be working but haven't had a chance to test it.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your patience.

We just released a Knowledge Base article that deals with this issue -

Acronis True Image Home 2011: Disabling "Integrate True Image into Windows" Does Not Work

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi, this DOES NOT SOLVE the issue Gabi stated on this post, regarding the FILE->PROPERTIES window being screwed up.
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/14144#comment-42326

Please let us know a solution ASAP.

Thanks.

Hello flapane,

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry for the delay but I will definitely assist you.

If I may clarify something. To remove Acronis True Image 2011 Home file associations that Gabi posted about I have submitted an enhancement request to our Development team and this will be fixed in a future update of our software.

The other issue with Windows backup failing to work, we have released a hotfix until we resolve the issue in our program.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi Anton,
thanks for your answer, I tought that the hotfix posted above would have worked for the File->Properties window size too.
We'll wait for a new software build.

I tried to disable "Integrate True Image into Windows" but nothing happened!!!!!!

You may use "autoruns" utility from sysinternals web site (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default.aspx)

Select tab "explorer" and uncheck acronis shell extension entries

It works, not the windows aren't oversized, thanks.
I hope that it won't affect the behaviour of the program, whenever I manually do a differential backup.

None of the hints to delete acronis from the contxt menu worked, I deinstalled ti Home 2011. menu not cleaned. Searched registry and deleted all entries with Acronis, same result. Any new hints? Windows 7 Prof 64bit, all patches.

Did you use the "autoruns" method?

There are *many* Acronis entries listed under "explorer" tab, are you sure you deleted each of them?

Have you restarted explorer or, simpler, logged out then logged back in?

First I deleted only the shell extentions, restarted my system. Acronis recovery is seen under properties. Then I deleted every thing of Acronis. Restarted , crashed and my system started a system repair. I'll use for imaging the bootmedium. No further experiments.
Acronis should do that job.

Like mbathen, I uninstalled everything, did the regedits, etc. And windows backup was still disabled (yes, the service was started).

I ended up giving up and just reinstalling Win7Prof and calling it a day. Lesson learned - won't ever touch Acronis again.

The problem with Windows system backup disabled is another issue. The starting post of this thread was only about context menu entries: "Please help me to remove acronis sections from Window context menu"

Thanks! But I using ATIH2010. It working prefect and it is indeed RTM release without any stupid ideas! I don't want be a beta tester. As a result, it is identical for 2010 and 2011, I have a .tib archive ) I think AHIH2010 will be ready to using after 6-8 months.... It will be great SW product ))) Maybe ?!

TO ACRONIS TEAM
Windows 7 shell prefect!!!!!!! Please don't touch it

Little more involved since Acronis took ownership. Here is what I had to do to get mine working!

*****NEWS ALERT******
Problem Solved for EVERYONE!!!!!! Or at least I am sure that many of you will find that you can fix the problem. Again it is a shame that Acronis didn't resolve this sooner.
You have to go to the registry and go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B98A2BEA-7D42-4558-8BD1-832F41BAC6FD}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]. The problem is that Acronis took ownership of this location keeping you from updating the key. Follow the steps below and it will allow you to make the required changes.
( taking ownership ) I went to that key and successfully took ownership...
1. Click on key and select properties.
2. click on "advanced"
3. select "owner tab"
4. change "System" or "Trusted Installer" to yourself "Name Administrator Blah Blah" Click Apply... OK
5 Back at original "permissions screen"... click on the name you just selected and "tick off the check box" to give yourself "full control" Sometimes it even appears "Grayed out"... you can still check it off.
6.That should do the trick
7. Now change the ResourceDLL to "%SystemRoot%\System32\sdcpl.dll"
8. Finally change the ResourceID to "14".
Questions let me know.

Hi guys!
I see that almost all problems and some new are in the 2012 version...
I've tried to remove the context menu commands using the integration settings in ATIH 2012, but it doesn't work...
I'm very angry.
Too much bugs for 2012 version...

Do you have the latest build installed? I don't see this issue

At that moment I didn't.
I checked for updates with ATIH 2012 menu and it say that there is no updates available.
But when I checked it from my account - the new build has available.
It's also a bug...
Now I installed the new build and switching off the context menu commands is working good.
As I say in previous post, too much bugs in version 2012.

I hope checking for updates in latest build will be work...
