How secure are files in a cloud backup?
Hi all,
maybe I missed something. What I did was create an encrypted backto to Acronis Cloud. When I use the link (Access backup location from the Acronis UI I am asked to provided the encryption passphrase.
However. If I create a link for a folder inside my backup and share this link, access to the files is grated without the passphrase!
Question: What keeps unwanted guest from guessing this link (32char Alpanumerical code)?
Comments welcome :-)

Hi Steve,
ok I understand the point about the password, and the public link.
What I am unsure about is this, Is it true that as long as I do not create a public link there exists no link someone could "guess" to access my files?
Thank you for the help.

Berthold, without any Public Link, then anyone trying to access your Cloud backup would need your Acronis account credentials and your encryption password. I very much doubt that they would be able to guess any links to your cloud data.
