Bootable Media Builder Fails with "Acronis Bootable Media Builder is not installed" error

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys,

I have Acronis Backup Advanced (Version 11.7 Update 1, build 11.7.50088) and Acronis Disk Director 12 (build 12.0.3297) installed.

Every time I try the Tools | Create bootable media option in Acronis Backup I get the attached error.  I have removed and added back the Boot Media option in the installation.

In Disk Director 12, it didn't work either until I removed/added back the Boot Media option in Acronis Backup installation.  It works in Disk Director now, but still doesn't in Acronis Backup.

Anybody have a clue?  Thanks for any advice,

Bryan

Hi Douglas,

The Acronis Disk Director 12 is quite an old product which Media Builder component is not compatible with recent Acronis Backup versions 11.7 and 12.5 (internal bug ID: ABR-60437 ). We're planning to refresh Acronis Disk Director 12 this year (likely closer to the middle of it) and fix these compatiblity issues + add support for Windows Server OSes in a separate license.

For now the only workaround is to install Acronis Disk Director 12 on a separate machine and create media from it.

Thank you.

I have the same issue.  Latest installations of DD12 and Backup 11.7 for PC's on the same computer.  Getting the same error.

I can live without a bootable media for DD12, but really need one for 11.7.  How do I create one for 11.7?  Can I download the bootable files from your website and then burn them to a DVD?

Hi Michael,

Yes, you can download an .iso image which contains the bootable media from your account management https://account.acronis.com/#/products  - find Acronis Backup 11.7 in the list and open the "Downloads" section.

Thank you.
