Bootable media type creation refers to WINDOWS 10?
Hi guys 'n' gals,
I just updated from 2016 to 2018 on my WIN7 desk top PC.
(Had a bit of a glitch with 2016 the other night, where it lost the actual count of my backups.)
(It did not find version 13 Full or version 12 Full + 2 Incrementals, so "IT" decided to create version 1 & start from scratch.)
(A really weird situation, considering that it's been faultless for many months doing it's normal weekly, (1 Full, 2 Incrementals), back ups.)
I checked a few of the settings out & decided to create a new "SIMPLE" bootable Media Disc &
a "Universal Restore" disc, in case the old/er ones went not relevant or usable.
The SIMPLE went O.K. with no probs seen or reported.
But, when I created the Universal Restore, it, the UI screen, referred to,
"Bootable Media Type: Windows 10 - Based Media. 32 bit."
Now, my Q? is...Where is ACRONIS getting the reference to WIN 10 from?
Is this relevant, an error, an updated feature or what?
My system is WIN 7, 32 bit.
Is it picking up that I have WIN 10 as a dual boot on a separate drive, (G:) or what?
Q? #2.
Is it necessary to keep checking the VSS option in the "Script" file & setting it to "false" every time you change a setting?
Many ta's for your assistance & info.
Regards, Rajah..

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the info.
Much appreciated.
In ref; to, "WinPE media, which defaults to being 32-bit from seeing an additional check box for x64 at the top of the panel and not checked."
I made sure that the WinPE was selected & not the 64 bit, bit.
I did see a reference to VSS when scouting around but was not sure exactly what it did.
I will now go in & disable that "Use VSS" function.
Ta muchly.
Regards, Rajah..
ps.
I forgot about this glitch.....
I logged in on my old faithful Firefox v20.......BUT there are no buttons, menu items etc., at the top.
Just the "FORUM" button is visible.
I have no way to log out with Firefox v20 & there's no "Log Out" button in My Account either..
(Correction...There is a Log Out button in My Accounts but it does NOT log me out of the Forum.)
No probs with V55, V57 or any other later versions that I run.
Why are there no menu items visible?
How the H%#* do I log out?

Rajah, sounds like the new Forum software is not compatible with your Firefox V20, so I guess the only way to log out of that version would be to close the browser and clear the cookies from the browser cache.

Hi Steve,
Yes. Indeed that is all that was req'd.
I am now using v57 with all the "Mod Cons" available.
(I will try to remember NOT to log in with v20...or at least, remember how to log out.) :)
Thanks Steve.
