Enumerator is invalid. (0x470001)

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to create a task to backup the My Application Settings of my installed programs.

I manage to get all the way to the "Archive Comments" dialog box, where the software crashes with the error message: "Enumerator is invalid. (0x470001)"
I am instructed to quit the program, which closes abruptly - back to the desktop.
My task is using a backup location on the second HDD in my PC. I had no trouble creating the location(s) and the task I created to backup "My Documents" to one of these folders was created without incident.
Is there something wrong with the System State Backup routine?
Cheers,
Greg

Hello Greg,

I understand the issue and will do everything possible from my side to solve it.

First of all can you please clarify the exact title of the program and the build number? I have checked your account and found registered product Acronis True Image 11 Home. I suppose the issue concerns with version of Acronis True Image, if it is not the case then please clarify.

In order to investigate the issue and find possible solution please attach the following diagnostic information to your next reply:

1) Acronis True Image log file.

- Start Acronis True Image;

- Select Tools -> Show log;

- Choose the log entry which contains errors;

- Click on the diskette icon, choose the location (folder) and save there;

- Send us the log.

2) Dr. Watson log file. Use the following KB article to gather crash dumps for your operating system.

3) Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip). This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Meanwhile I would recommend you to check whether you are using the latest build of the program 8101 (help -> about) or not. I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date. You can download the latest build from your account under Registered Products.

I would also recommend you to download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and check it functionality. There are a lot of new features available since Acronis True Image 11 Home such as Nonstop backup, Online backup, Plus Pack add-on and many others. For additional information check Acronis True Image Home 2010 user guide.

Regarding the second question concerning System State backup there is a known issue Acronis True Image 11 Home Freezes During "Files and folders" or "System State" Backup. This is an issue in the compression algorithm of Acronis True Image Home. As a workaround, set compression level for the backup process to None.

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hello,
I am also having issues with an error message in my log, "enumerator invalid". I am running TIH 11 Build 8053, and TIH 11 Build 8101.

I have configured my Backup Location to limit the number of backups and also the age of the backups on the external hard drive. However, when I start my task, the system backs up, and then checks for violations. It sees that the number of backups is set to 10, but then returns the error message "enumerator invalid". It finishes, though, with Operation Succeeded.

Upon looking at my external hard drive where the backups are stored, I see that the system did NOT, in fact, perform any kind of consolidation or delete old backups. Therefore, after a few days' worth of tasks running, my hard drive fills up and then the backups fail.

This symptom is happening on BOTH copies of my TIH11.

Attached are files:
1. Backup log from Friday Sept 24 2010
2. Printscreen of version of one of the TIH
3. Printscreen of the error as it appears on the log file screen within TIH

What are my options to resolve this? At this point, I find myself having to go in every week or so and manually delete all the backup TIB files on my backup location so the subsequent backup task run will be successful.
