TIH 2014 reinstallation - where are my backup settings??

Thread needs solution

Uninstalled and reinstalled TIH 2014 due to snapman error. TIH indicated during uninstall that my settings would be preserved. Experience however differs from that and my backup settings do not appear following the new re-installation.

So, I'm looking for pointers to info on how to recover my backup settings.

Thx

tocguy, all your settings are normally held in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis folder path, and in particular in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder for your backup tasks, and in the Database folder for your backup history.

Depending on how you uninstalled ATI 2014 these folders are normally left behind and would be picked up again on the reinstall, but if you used an uninstaller program or the Acronis Cleanup tool then these would have removed all traces of the program, including user data and settings.

If you have a backup that includes the above folders, then you could try restoring the contents, but would recommend doing this to another temporary location first, then only trying to copy the files to the original locations after ensuring that all Acronis Services & Processes are stopped / ended.  You will see locks on the files otherwise.

Hello Steve,

Thx for responding to my question. I did have to use the TIH Cleanup Tool so your suggestion was spot-on. I recovered the scripts from a previous tib backup file. I did discover a little tweak to your instructions that simplified the process of restoring the backup scripts a little bit. I found that when the TIH installation completes and is on the final dialog box that prompts to either Start the application or Finish, it is at this point that the old backup scripts can safely be copied into the folder you indicated thus avoiding hassling with terminating all the Acronis services to remove the locks.

Thx

Glad to hear that you had a copy of the backup scripts and were able to restore these without hitting any locks.  Thanks for the feedback and tip.
