Recovery Expert Tool problem
As a very, very longtime user of Acronis products (since 2003 15 payd products/upgrades) I was using also DD10 since 2007 waiting years over years for the nessessary update. Now I payd about 30U$ for the upgrade to DD11 is not an upgrade from DD10 but a shrink from DD10 with W7 features and a graphical update similar the TrueImageHome 13.
As a serious producer of such a good software (like TIH) it's a shame, what you sell to your longtime user under the unserious titel UPGRADE, what's in reality a downgrade from DD10 for U$30!
I `have read some in the forum and I'm surprised about the missing statemant of a responsable manager to the severall serious reclaims. I hope to a conciliant UPGRADE in the next days (not in the next years ...) without any supplement costs for a new named product like Pro/Advanced instead of Home.
BTW: What is wrong, when DD11 after the clean installation shows the tools "Acronis Recovery Explorer" and "Acronis Bootable Media Builder", but after trying to start the Recovery Editor for example the following message comes up:
E000101F4 failed to open (initialize) the machine
Together with all the other forum threads I ask: Who is responsible for the finish tests by Acronis? if not the Lehmann Brothers ...
With kind Regards to ALL Acronis user and Acronis developers
Harry, Switzerland

I had the same error. I uninstalled True Image (which I had installed for a long time), rebooted, then did a repair of Disk Director and it complained that a service was using one of the files that it needed to update (in my case it was a Televantage Service). I stopped the service and clicked Retry. I was then able to run Recovery Expert.
