Slow Shut Down
I have had a problem for quite some time with Windows 10 taking up to 5 minutes to shut down.
But after I do the weekly Acronis backup Windows shuts down normally in about 30seconds.
It only does this once and it reverts to the slow shut down subsequently.
Some how the Acronis backup temporarily corrects the problem.
I wish I new how it does it so that I can fix it permanently..

This happens on a manual shut down. Sometimes 2 to 3 hours after the backup.
This has me quite mystified. There has to be a connection here somewhere.

I do not know why ATI running a backup should make any difference to shutdown time, especially with a gap of several hours lapsed between the backup & shutting down.
I would suggest trying the tips in the webpages mentioned above, i.e. running SFC /SCANNOW and if that finds no issues, then trying DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
You should have a copy of your Windows 10 install media available for both of the above tool, which you can download from the Microsoft Windows 10 download page by using the Microsoft Media Creation tool.
Another option here would be to do an in-place upgrade of Windows 10 using the same install media by running this from within an active Windows session.

I am having a similar problem with ATI 2018 since the last update on both windows 7 and 10 machines. I get a message on the shutdown screen saying I have to wait while ATI finishes current operations. It takes about 2 minutes for the message to go away and the shutdown to proceed normally.
What has Acronis done? It's not really acceptable.

Leo, with ATI 2018, the only time when I have seen any 2 minute warning messages has been when there has been an ATI activity working on my computer. This was an issue with some earlier versions but was fixed in the later builds for ATI 2017 and for 2018.
If you are really seeing an issue here with this 2 minute warning message and definitely do not have any active Acronis process or task, then you will need to open a Support Case with Acronis for this and provide them with an Acronis System Report to allow them to investigate what the root issue is?
