Is it possible for me to get ATIH 2010 until 2011 is fixed?

Thread needs solution

I upgraded from TIH 11 to TIH 2011 to put on my windows 7 machine. I think 2011 has too many problems for me. Can I get a download link for TIH 2010 in my account until the issues with TIH 2011 are fixed?

Well I just chatted live with support.

The answer is NO. Acronis would rather refund me my money rather than lend me, until they get the 2011 bugs ironed out, a "lesser" 2010 version of the their software!

Honestly I would have been happy to pay for an upgrade to TIH 11 that ran under Windows 7 x64. Sigh.

Anybody have suggestions for backup software?

Gene,

What problems were you having with TI2011?

Mine is installed on a W7 Ult 64 bit system.

I understand your first problem, but what is the problem with system state backups?

There is none. I want to make a recoverable system backup, not just back up my files. I don;t want to have to figure out what all is needed to recover system state.

Gene

You don't have to figure anything out, just make either a complete disk image or the C:\partition add on the hidden boot partition if your Windows install has one.

I am not sure how 2010 coped with Vista/W7 systems that have the booting files in the hidden partition.

Hi Gene,
Both ATI 2010 and 2011 work the same way for full disk backups in Win7 64bit. Select "Disk and Partition Backup" in 2011 and select the disk drive with all its partitions to backup the entire disk. With 2010, you would create a backup Task and select the disk dirve with all its partitions that you want to backup.

I make full disk images in 2011 (build 5519) and use the "Single Version" backup scheme. I've successfully restored my image to a new hard drive and used my Win7 Pro 64bit DVD to do a "Repair Computer" to make the drive bootable to Win7. I also make data file backups in 2011 using "File Backup" feature. Again, I use the "Single Version" backup scheme. Both create reliable backups that can be restored.
