I have created two images of my hard drives.
At the time of cloning or recovering some I get error message "Unable to assign a device letter" to a partition from the backup file, this message appears when I select MOUNT from the image.
From the application I select the option to Recover disks, i get another error message "There are no versions of the backup" and the error code 0x00640BEA + 0x00640001. I send you the screenshots.
I hope you can help me. Thank you very much

Welcome to these User Forums.

What type of backup images have you created here?
Only Disk & Partitions / Entire PC backups can be mounted to a drive letter.

What are you trying to recover here and how are you trying to do it?

If you are trying to recover your Windows OS drive, then this should really be done by using the Acronis bootable Rescue media rather than attempting to do this from within Windows.  Also this must be a Disk & Partitions type backup if you want to still keep Windows working correctly.

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for your answer,
The image I try to recover is the operating system with its three partitions.
I tried to do it from a boot disk, CD and USB, but I do not get to the Acronis options screen, it stays black for a long period of time.
What I'm trying now is to clone another hard disk using the image I have created with Acronis from windows.
I connect the hard drive via USB, I open the Acronis application and go to the Recover discs section, and I get the error message 0x00640BEA + 0x00640001
Thanks again

Please see KB 59877: Acronis True Image 2017: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

The above is important because the Acronis Rescue Media needs to be used in the same boot mode as used by your Windows OS.  You can check the OS boot mode by running the msinfo32 command and looking at what is shown for BIOS mode on the first page.

If your system is UEFI then you may also need to disable Secure boot in the BIOS settings if you are using the default Linux based version of the Rescue media.

The boot mode of the OS is legacy, the USB or CD boot mode is UEFI, I have disabled the safe mode in the bios.
Is there no way to clone the HDD using the image that I have saved directly from the program?
Thank you

If your OS boot mode is Legacy, then you also need to boot the Rescue Media using Legacy.

Please see KB 1540: Difference between Backup and Disk Clone as it is important to understand this when using the term 'clone' but speaking about backup 'images'.

You should be able to Restore the backup image to a new HDD but the HDD should not already contain a Windows OS if you are trying to do this from within Windows using ATI.

I'm going to try tomorrow to change the boot to legacy and try.
The hard drive that I try to clone is new. The process that you have shown me is the one I follow, I have applied it twice in this PC without problems, now I do not know why it does not work.
Thank you very much Steve.
Have a good day.
