Specifying an IP?NIC when restoring

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am currently evaluating 12.5 for my Linux backups.

So far I have not been able to find an answer via searching the knowledge base, reading the documentation, poking around in the Trial. Perhaps I missed this.

When doing a restore, can I choose a specific interface on a machine with an agent installed.

My servers have 1GB Management and 10GB Data NICs with individual IPs. Therefore, I want to ensure that my restores are using the 10gb NIC only.

Hello Eugene,

In the current implementation it's not possible to specify the NIC to be used for backup\restore traffic directly in the product. However, adding such functionality is in our plans (internal ID for reference ABR-95848).

Thank you!

Hi Eugene,

Currently it's not possible to define the network interface specifically (we plan to add this option to GUI in future), but you can define it by accessing the backup location by IP address which belongs to your backup network, e.g. access it as \\[Share_IP_address]\ShareName instead of using hostnames, while browsing the backup location when configuring recovery.

Thank you.
