Recovery doesn't display correctly.
I got a larger hard drive so I made an image of my old drive and recovered it to the new drive. When I booted for the first time the image was only in about 1/4 of the screen. I changed the resolution to the largest setting and it now fills about 3/4 of the screen. I have a 15" display and there are dark borders about 2" wide on either side of the image.
Why is this happening?

I have no clue as to its cause. You do not indiicate what version of Windows nor what version of TrueImage nor any of your procedures.
If this happened to me, I would repeat the restore.
Assuming that your old disk is still usable for an emergency.
1. Install the new larger target disk in it intended boot position.
2. Boot from the TI Rescue CD
3. use Acronis Add disk option to delete the existing partitions on the new target disk.
4. Restore all partitions (except MBR/track0) from a backup file located elsewhere.
Resize each partiton as needed
5. After completion of the restore, do not reboot
6. Restore the MBR/Track 0 plus check mark the "Recover disk signature" located on the same screen where the select target disk is located.
7. Restore the MBR (Click proceed on the summary page)
8. Shutdown and reboot with only the new larger drive attached.
