cloning mech drive to SSD
I cloned my mechanical drive to a new WD SSD (thru a USB port). The operation appeared to go without a hitch and the computer shut down. I then removed the USB and did a restart from the old drive. Surprisingly the Acronis interface came back up and was telling me that the path was not found for the linked drive. I clicked to ignore and then the computer rebooted and brought me to the same window. This time I reconnected the USB SSD and clicked yes to wait and find. I got the same result. I tried all possible options but I could not get the OS on the old drive to start. I then installed the new cloned SSD and it booted just fine. However, I cannot read the old drive when connected as a secondary nor will it boot as the master. Windows disk manager shows the drive but indicates its protected and won't let me perform any operation. How do I remove this lock?
