I am trying to recover a backup but keep receiving an error. I have run this backup before, so I know it is not corrupt. Here is the message that I receive when I try to load the backup file:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

What could be causing this? I have uninstalled Acronis True Image 2010 and run a registry cleaner. Then I reinstalled the program. I also re-downloaded the latest version from the Acronis website, but I still get the error. I tried mounting the image of the .tib file, but I still get the error. I'm not sure what to try next. Please help.

My recommendation would be to boot using a bootable ATI rescue CD or USB thumb drive, and restore the image using that.

I ran the validation on the backup using the bootable CD, but the recovery process will not start.

I'm hoping one of the administrators will identify the problem and offer a solution. Still waiting for help on this...

Can you restore and mount any other images? Is the problem only affecting this particular image?

What error do you get when you try to restore it from the TI CD?
