Replication Warning - The Operation Has Been Disabled By The Guest Operating System

Thread needs solution

I'm testing all of our backup and replication tasks, and one of the replication tasks has completed with a warning:
The operation has been disabled by the guest operating system

This error is under a warning line in the log, which itself is under the "successful" completion of the replication task, and the overall status of the task in the list is orange.  So is the replica good and valid or not?

Here's what the log says:

Are there any concerns with the third entry ("The replication may be slow as it is performed by Agent for VMware (Windows).")?  This is a Server 2012 VM with VMware Tools installed, and nothing Acronis-related installed.

Are there any concerns with the various "The session is not authenticated." entries?

What does "The operation has been disabled by the guest operating system" actually mean and what impact does it have on the replica?

Thanks

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your posting! Please refer to the comment https://forum.acronis.com/comment/426272#comment-426272 where a similar issue has been discussed.

Regarding the message "The replication may be slow as it is performed by Agent for VMware (Windows)"

There are two ways to install the Agent for VMware: the software can be installed directly on ESX(i) host as a Virtual Appliance or Acronis Windows Agent can be installed on a Windows machine. Each installation type has its own advantages and disadvantages, so the choice will depend on your infrastructure. Thus, Windows Agent should be considered for using in the following scenario, see LAN-free backup.  In other cases you'll usually gain more in performance with the Agent installed as a virtual appliance.

Thank you,

Thanks for the reply.  I'm still seeing the "The Operation Has Been Disabled By The Guest Operating System" message occasionally.

As for the "The replication may be slow as it is performed by Agent for VMware (Windows)" message, we're not using the Windows agent.  We have the virtual appliance installed on an ESXi host and that's it.  Why would we be getting a warning message about a Windows agent?

Checked in our internal sources, this one looks like a known logging issue (internal ID ABR-171666). You can safely ignore this line.
