Sector-by-sector backup much larger than expected
TI2018, full back of Windows 10 system drive. Drive size 250GB, with approx 80GB used. I selected "back up sector-by-sector" but NOT "back up unallocated space". The resultant backup file was 194GB.
I had been using TrueImage 11 until recently, and sector images on that were usually around the same size as standard images. Have I done something wrong?

John, welcome to these User Forums.
Sector-by-Sector will always result in a much larger backup image size and is not normally needed. It will capture any sectors with data whether that data is relevant or not, plus any exclusions you have set are ignored when using this mode, so the backup will include such as the pagefile.sys, swapfile.sys, hiberfil.sys and System Volume Information folders where system restore point data is stored.
ATI will automatically change to using Sector-by-Sector mode if disk errors are encountered, i.e. bad sectors, or if the you are backing up foreign file systems such as EXT2/3/4 etc.
