Rescue disk failed
Hi, after a boot fail, I have been trying to get back in my system. What happened is this. I accidently deleted my boot menu using the application "EasyBSD". So, since the system won't boot, thought I would try to pop in the rescue disk I created for when this happens. After inserting the disk, all I got was a yellow screen with horizontal lines. Could I use my original installation disk to try to restore my boot problem? What are my options? Thanks in advance!

It seems after trying these procedures, when I try the "BOOTREC/FIXBOOT" command, I get the result, "access denied". Just in case I have to do a clean install of Window's 10, I have my original Acornis backup of my original system on an external drive. Once I do have a clean install, could I restore my original backup with the new install?

Michael, there should be no need to do a clean install of Windows to recover from this issue if you already have a good disk & partitions backup image.
If your computer uses UEFI and has a separate EFI partition that is included in your backup image, then I would suggest booting from the Acronis Rescue Media and restoring just the EFI partition, as this should be where the Windows BCD is stored.

Thanks Steve for the reply. Unfortunately, my Rescue Media will not boot. Just a screen with yellow horizontal lines. I do not have EFI.

Michael, which rescue media are you trying to use here?
Acronis can make 3 different types as described in KB
60820: Acronis True Image 2018: how to create bootable media
and also KB
60091: Acronis True Image 2018: how Simple bootable media creation mode works
I would recommend making the WinPE rescue media on another computer if you have this option, or else try downloading the ISO image for the Linux media from your Acronis account and burning this to CD/DVD.

Rescue Media Builder. Used with Acronis True Image 2018. I do have Windows 7 installed on my computer which I can boot into. Do you say this ISO is stored in or on my account? If so, I could burn it from the Windows 7 and try again.

Michael, if you sign in to your Acronis account at acronis.com then you will see several items available for download for any of your registered products, one of these is an ISO file of the Linux version of the rescue media.

Downloading the media from another PC (work), I created another Rescue disk. It did the trick! I got everything back! Thanks for the help Steve!
