TM2018 - No SYNC between folders or manual CONSOLIDATION anymore.
I just "upgraded" to 2018 from 2013 (because it was showing one drive I wanted to backup as a dynamic disk for some reason). Anyway, 2018 version is missing 2 features the old version had that I used a lot:
Synchronisation between folders on the same PC. (Now I seem to be able to only sync to the cloud or another PC).
Manual consolidation of intermediate differentials to make space. It seems there is no way to delete any particular .tib files in the interface, without deleting the whole backup set and settings. I guess I will have to delete them manually in windows explorer...
Pity that TM is now less capable...

Thank you.
Is it safe to delete (outside of TM) intermediate differentials or full backup .tib files? I seem to remember TM not liking backups being deleted outside of the GUI,

If you do delete any .tib files outside of the ATI GUI, you should then follow up by doing a Validation for the task that created those files as information on all files is stored in the Acronis Database and this needs to be reconciled with the new status of existing files. Validation will given an error message for each deleted file where you should take the Ignore option if available.
Note: automatic cleanup rules in the backup task does not remove intermediate differential files for an incomplete version chain, only completed version chains i.e. full plus all associated differentials after a new full backup has been successfully created to start a new version chain.

Thanks for the info. I'm just having trouble fully automating my 1TB drive backup to a 2TB drive. I like to have 7 days of daily differentials, but the differentials take up so much space the next chain wont run at the end of the week ( without some manual deletion of the intermediates!). It is a real pain. I may to consider incremental and compression, which will be slower and more risky...

It sound very much like you will need a larger backup drive than the 2TB drive you currently have or else you will need to find a different approach for your backups. Incremental backups are potentially smaller but you will still need to be able to fit a minimum of 2 Full backups on your backup drive plus a full set of incremental files.
