For xp search the registry for "trueimagehome trueimage fomatik and delete all those entries

a good registry editor that can do the search and deletes in bulk is a good idea, rather than going entry by entry.

delete C:\Program Files\Acronis
delete C:\Program Files commmon Files\Acronis
and, if it exists,
delete C:\Program Files commmon Files\fomatik
although this last one will appear under C:\Program Files commmon Files\Acronis , at least in the later versions of the program.

Thanks scott, but I'd like have more detailed guide.I found this kb article https://kb.acronis.com/content/7533 ,but after succesful login I can't acces to the page and I get the following message: "Access Denied. You are not authorized to access this page."

Why I am not authorized to acces this page https://kb.acronis.com/content/7533?

Why I am not authorized to acces this page https://kb.acronis.com/content/7533?

Because the link is bogus. I got the same message and found the correct link by searching the KB for 7533.

But you said you tried the cleanup tool and it failed. Where did you get the tool you tried?

The cleanup tool recently released replaced the prior one.

This link shows which version the cleanup applies to

The link to the download can be found below inside my signature in lower right corner of my signature.

I ran the cleanup tool and I cleared out the folders, but the install of the update file still says there is another version installed. There is nothing in the Add/Remove programs (or its Win 7 equivalent) that says Acronis. I ran CCleaner and that took a lot of acronis stuff out of the registry.

There are a dozen or so things in the registry that say Acronis in them but many of them are very long hex value keys. I am afraid to just delete them.

I was hoping the cleanup program would "clean up" and remove all traces of all things Acronis.

Where do I go from here? I am also confused about support options because when I go through the support menu it says KB and forums are my only free options and when I click on the PPI link there is a comment that says "Free email and chat support"???

GroverH, Thank you. I ran the 2011 cleanup and that seems to have solved the problem. The update has started to install.

Process did not work for me. Caused computer to lockup and could not be booted. Problem compounded when TI boot disc did not work! Many hours of labor to get computer woring again. In future posts it would be helpful if the OS is identified i.e. XP, Vista, Win 7, 32 or 64 bit.

FYI. Using Win 7 64-bit with TI 2010 with Plus pack. Uninstall did remove files in Windows Explorer and the TI entry in the Programs (old Add/Remove) list. However there remained probably more than a hundred entries in the Registry. I deleted each entry that could be found using "trueimagehome" and "Acronis" as search criteria. If you are interested I copied down each key. It covers about 30 pages (about 50K). Maybe this will help Acronis programers.
