Tapelocation folder very big

Thread needs solution

I have  200GB tapelocation folder on separate drive 230 GB  drive and still growing.

Is there a way to reduce the size?  delete older folders or something like this?

Hello Marek,

you can either move TapeLocation to a larger location or delete some older backups, this will also remove information about the backups from the TapeLocation. Another point to check would the option "file recovery from disk backups". When enabled it will create additional data in the TapeLocation folder that may lead to it's size growing rapidly.

Thank you,

I have deleted some backups from backups->locations ->tape location. but the size of tapelocation is the same.

Note that backups on tapes are physically deleted only when a tape cassette is completely overwritten (this happens when all backups on a particular tape are marked for deletion or when you move a tape to the Free tapes pool).
